YOUR ONE STOP TRAVEL SHOP FOR KENYA AND TANZANIA
SERVICE IS OUR BUSINESS, PLEASING IS OUR PLEASURE!
|
WE ARE HOPING TO BE BACK IN OUR OWN PREMISES BEFORE THE NEXT HIGH SEASON, SO STAY TUNED, MEANWHILE, OUR TRAVEL AND SAFARI TEAM ARE WORKING AS NORMAL,
Meanwhile we have extended our contract agreements with many of the region's hotels and lodges and can arrange accommodation in quality hotels and lodges at substantial savings, while still catering for all our Backpacker friends, in Nairobi, on safari and at the coast!!!
Nairobi
Backpackers was opened in February 2001 with the aim of providing
budget travellers with an alternative to staying in cheap downtown
hotels (most of which are becoming decidedly “seedy”)
or having to travel out of the city to established campsites.
Since 2003, under new management, the facilities had been extensively
improved and the number of people using the hostel had grown each
month and repeat stays became common. A number of overland
companies have been using the hostel as a drop-off point for passengers
wanting affordable accommodation outside the city centre, and as
an option to camping.
We pride ourselves on providing a "HOME
AWAY FROM HOME" atmosphere and never saying "Sorry we are full!"
Unfortunately, in late 2007, when our lease on the property was due for renewal, it was refused.
We endeavour to find a suitable replacement property in a similar location, but it is not easy, as many of the similar properties have been bulldozed to make way for high rise buildings.
We will not give up our search as we feel that the loss of our property has left a gap that is not filled by any other accommodation.
"A little bit
of home.... in the heart of Africa"
