Days/2 Nights Maasai Mara (Permanent Tented Camp)
Day
1 Nairobi – Maasai Mara
Morning departure from Nairobi, descending the escarpment and driving
along the floor of the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai town of Narok.
After a stop for refreshments, proceed to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve
with game viewing enroute to the overnight camp.
Day
2 Maasai Mara
Full day game viewing with picnic lunch.
One of Kenya's premier reserves, the Maasai Mara is an extension
of the Serengeti and world famous for the spectacular migration
of thousands of wildebeest and zebra during the months of July and
October. The Mara is also rich in resident game with over 95 species
recorded. These include the "Big Five" - elephant, buffalo,
lion, leopard and rhino - as well as giraffe, hippo, cheetah, hyena,
and numerous antelope. The Reserve is also rich in birdlife with
over 480 species recorded in recent times.
Day
3 Maasai Mara - Nairobi
After breakfast we undertake a morning gamedrive before leaving
the Reserve. After exiting the gate, we can make a short stop at one
of the local Maasai manyattas, (optional), to enable you to take photos, and
to give you a brief glimpse into their way of life. We continue
via Narok to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon.
