BACKPACKERS
AND WILD ROVERS GOES TO ETHIOPIA!
By
popular request, we have decided to open
a twin to our Kenyan operation, to be based
in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The new set-up
will be operational by July this year, (2007).
We
will also be running trips between the hostel
in Nairobi and the one in Addis.
For
those of you who already know our home away
from home policy, you will be pleased to
know that we intend to run exactly the same
system in Ethiopia and will be offering
the same in-house tour system there, to
visit the Omo Valley, the historic route
of the north, the Simien Mountains and much
more.
Having
lived and worked in Ethiopia for 4 years,
I have a good knowledge of the place and
the people and will be basing myself there
during the early months after opening.

THE WILD ROVER AND PAPA KEN GOES HOME!
BECAUSE OF THE FAST INCREASING POPULARITY OF OUR ORGANISATION, OUR FOUNDER, PAPA KEN, (KEN TIMMS), IS RETURNING HOME TO HIS ROUTES, SHEFFIELD IN ENGLAND ON MONDAY. IT WAS THERE THAT THE WILD ROVER WAS BORN. THIS WAS HIS MOTHERS NAME FOR HIM, DUE TO HIS WANDERING WAYS AND LOVE FOR THE WILD. THERE HE WILL REGISTER WILD ROVERS INTERNATIONAL LTD AND PAPA KEN'S PLACE (INTERNATIONAL) LTD. FROM HERE, HE AND HIS FAMILY WILL CO-ORDINATE WORLDWIDE BOOKINGS FOR HIS NEW VENTURES.
For those of you who do not know England , Fox House, (Sheffield) is the most popular outdoor activity area in the whole of England .
We are going to find a farm there, to convert into an outdoor activity centre and hostel.
Activities that will be offered are:

Hang gliding Abseiling Canoeing Sailing Scuba diving Quad biking Fishing
Land Rover enthusiast club. Off road driving courses Land Rover expeditions, (national and international)

International Home Stay and Flight Co-ordination Centre.

WHEN TRAVELLING TO EAST AFRICA, PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL YOUR U.S. DOLLAR NOTES ARE NEWER THAN THE YEAR 2000, AS OLD NOTES ARE DIFFICULT TO GET RID OF, EVEN IN THE BANKS.

AS ALL PERMITS ARE ALREADY SOLD OUT FOR THE WHOLE OF THE SUMMER MONTHS, NO FURTHER BOOKINGS CAN BE TAKEN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
IF YOU WISH TO TAKE A CHANCE, WHEN IN UGANDA, IT IS SOMETIMES POSSIBLE TO OBTAIN PERMITS DUE TO CANCELLATIONS, BUT TO DO THIS, YOU NEED TO VISIT THE UGANDAN WILDLIFE AUTHORITY OFFICE IN KAMPALA WITH THE CASH. US$500 AFETR THE 1ST OF JULY.
