Holidays to Egypt ??? Why not? Maybe Egypt is your holiday destination. In this country you will be asked to trace to places that have historical value. If you want to vacation while learning history, Egypt is the warehouse. From the history of ancient Egypt to the history of Islamic progress, everything you will find in this location.
Preparing everything when traveling is mandatory, especially if you are going to work traveling abroad. The difference in weather, times and food is a matter that is quite crucial, to the extent that all three need special attention and preparation.
Well, if you plan to travel to Egypt this is a number of things that should be a concern:
There are 3 seasons that apply in Egypt, winter, spring and summer. Rainfall is only 4 times a year, so there is almost no dryness in the air.
- Summer reaches its peak in June – September, the air temperature when summer can reach 45 degrees Celsius. And in the desert it can reach above 50 degrees Celsius. During summer, the air temperature is never below 30 degrees, if the wind blows even hot. As a result, the AC will always be on all day.
- The winter in Egypt will often start in October and has begun to finish in February. The air temperature in winter ranges from 7-18 degrees centigrade.
- Spring is March – May, the perfect time for a holiday to Egypt is actually this season because the air temperature is almost the same as in Indonesia, cool even though it wants to be dry and not humid. Air temperature ranges from 20-30 degrees Celsius.
So if you are going to travel to Egypt it is better in winter or spring. Because during the summer, the sun wants to be unfriendly to our skin. If Europeans like their holidays in summer, it’s understandable that they are obsessed with exotic brown skin. Lha if we are Indonesian? Can be burnt … hehehe …
If you are not quite adaptable to Egyptian food in the form of breads, even the ingredients that make your Indonesian tongue become disturbed, you don’t need to worry. In Egypt, especially in Cairo, you will find not a few Indonesian food stalls. Want soto kudus, soto betawi, Padang style food stalls, meatballs, chicken noodles, tempe & penyet chicken and other Indonesian cuisines are all there. The stalls are located in the region 10 (Hay Asyir). It was in this area that Indonesian people, especially students, did not live a bit. If you want to be close to this location, a hotel or guesthouse that is managed by a family gathering of students also exists with a relatively cheap rental price.
But there is no harm in trying Tho’miyah with Isyh bread, this is a high-calorie Egyptian food. So it’s certain your stomach is full all day long by tasting 3 servings hehehe … the price is cheap, just about 3 LE (Rp. 4,500) you have found a healthy menu full of nutrition. Or Nasi Mandi, typical Yemeni food with chicken or mutton. The latter is addictive for me …
If you are also used to eating instant noodles, you don’t have to take them from Indonesia. In Egypt it is available in baqala or warungs and supermarkets, from noodle soup, fried noodles and even noodle pop. Just brew with hot water right? hmmm … practical. The price is also only 1.5 LE (Rp. 2,250).
Don’t worry about transportation there are not a few modes of transportation, especially in Cairo, although public transportation in Cairo is no better than in Jakarta.
Taxi, taxi fares in Egypt are not too expensive, although sometimes taxi drivers in Egypt are a bit “naughty” by playing the argo. The number of insolence by taxi is quite rampant after the revolution began in 2011. So you must selectively choose a taxi, so you avoid crime. There are no exclusive tips in choosing a taxi but try to take a taxi that is white.
Metro, this is a very popular mode of transportation for the people of Cairo. Similar to KRL in Jakarta and the ticket price is only 1 LE (Rp. 1800). The timeliness is quite reliable. However, my advice is not to travel alone without a guide if using the metro. Do not equate the metro in Cairo with a subway in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul or other developed countries whose systems are well integrated to the point that new travelers are certainly not lost.
Bus, this is also a very confusing public transport according to information from me hehehe … I just probably tried it a number of times. That too was given guidance by students who had lived in Cairo for years.
4. Time difference
This will also cause problems, because it is another time for Egypt and Indonesia for 5 hours. If you don’t have long periods of traveling in Egypt, then try to get a good sleep and rest on the plane. Maybe the flight is not enough for more than 11 hours for your rest time. Don’t get around holidays in Egypt, jetlags are a problem for your vacation schedule.
Now, there are 4 things that need attention if you are planning a vacation in Egypt. Next time, I will write down the estimated costs and a number of places that must be visited around in Egypt.
5. Pray Hard Play Hard
Want to gamble? Come to Cairo. Easy! Luxury casinos are scattered in almost all five-star hotels that are very much located on the banks of the Nile. Please go to Umar Kayam Casino at the Marriott or Grand Hyatt, Sheraton or the local hotel chain belonging to Egypt Pyramisa. All give Casino convenience. Or want to float Casino. Wow, that’s not a bit on cruise ships that are leaning on the Nile.
Whereas we know that in this city stands the oldest and largest Islamic university in the world, Al-Azhar University. Al Azhar’s scholars were most heard, even by Husni Mubaraq. The scholars here glorify the secular path chosen by Egypt. In Egypt, in addition to Islam for 7 million people or 10 percent of Egyptians hold coptic or orthodox Christians.
Wait a minute. Don’t assume that the scholars there legalize gambling. There is a strict ban on Egyptians who are Muslims to enter the Casino. They even planted a kind of sariah police who could arrest each Muslim who played gambling. Then who is the Casino used? For foreign tourists. Egypt is indeed living from the tourism sector. Millions of people come here to explore the charming nile, visit pyramids and spinx or visit the city of Cleopatra, Alexandria. Go to Luxor, head to the Sinai mountains or to the beach town in El Sheik Sharm on the Red Sea. In all of these tourist attractions there is a Casino.
We go to Malaysia for a moment. Let’s go to the Genting Highlands. Same as in Egypt, it is not enough Islam what Malaysia is. But they still work on localization of gambling. Just as in Egypt in Genting the Muslim Malays were strictly forbidden to enter the Casino-casino located at Genting Highland.
How in Indonesia? At the time of Ali Sadikin, he was the governor of DKI first, he had legalized gambling, classified as Casino where the culture was handed down from generation to generation up until the success of online gambling in Indonesia such as https://judisakti.org which has collaboration with the biggest Sportsbook agent like Sbobet. Bang Ali even admitted that more than 50 percent of the estimated construction of DKI was collected from fulus gambling. Later you are rather right. Gambling is prohibited everywhere. Although it is not certain to remove gambling. Discourse on gambling localization on Thousand Island was littered with Islamic figures. As a result, gambling is prohibited, people secretly play gambling. Or even the authorities feel that illegal gambling is not scattered in the city.
Why don’t you like Cairo or Genting. They found huge foreign exchange from this gambling. Legal money because it goes into the state treasury not into the pockets of the authorities. Also we may be taught not to be hypocrisy. Prohibit gambling but corrupt behavior is everywhere.
Have a good vacation…..
